Heavy rains fell in Tripoli, Libya's capital, on Sunday morning, flooding important highways and disrupting schools.

The Tripoli Security Directorate declared that it would take over the towing of automobiles that had broken down due to the flooding of the streets.

The Tripoli Security Directorate's Traffic Affairs Office urged people to take care.

The National Meteorological Centre of Libya predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms in northern Libya.

There were no known human casualties.
