The journalist and presenter of Canal Algérie, Wafa Meftah Rezki, has passed away. She passed away on Sunday evening in Algiers, at the age of 42. She died after a long illness, her family said.

Meftah Rezki joined the editorial staff of Canal Algérie in 2004. She hosted several programmes including "C'est le week-end, Un air de famille, Bien être, Bonjour d'Algérie, TV Rama", and her last programme "Paroles de femmes".

The Minister of Communication, Government Spokesperson, Ammar Belhimer, presented his sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased.

For his part, the director general of EPTV, Chaâbane Lounakel, and all the workers of Algerian television, while also presenting their condolences to the family of the deceased and her relatives, expressed their deep sympathy in this painful circumstance.

The deceased was buried on Monday, after the Dohr prayer, in the Garidi cemetery in Kouba.
