The health centre of Pahou was ravaged by a fire on the night of Thursday 04 to Friday 05 November 2021. The staff woke up in panic when they saw the fire. The events took place in the commune of Ouidah.

A fire broke out on Thursday night at about one o'clock in the morning at the Pahou health centre. The fire was caused by a short circuit in the ceiling of the delivery room.

According to the mayor of Ouidah, who went to the scene on Friday, there was more fear than harm. "Fortunately, there was no loss of life. The main building of the Health Centre housing the dispensary, the maternity ward and the laboratory dates back to 1987 and has not been operational since this morning," he said.

The municipal authority assures that measures are underway to ensure that the hospital's operations are not affected by the fire.
