While there will be no changes, the lists of the 24 teams that will participate in the CAN 2021 are already fixed. Sierra Leone will participate, following the result of the match, 1 and 0 against Benin, on Tuesday 15 June 2021. Historically, this is the third time the Leone Stars have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations. The first was in 1996. They will be one of the great curiosities of the tournament, along with Comoros and Gambia, who will be participating in the first Africa Cup of Nations in their history. Malawi, Ethiopia and Sudan are also among the great returnees after a long absence.

 As a reminder, the draw ceremony that was scheduled for 25 June has been postponed. But according to the secretary general of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Veron Mosengi Omba, said Tuesday that the draw for the final phase will take place in mid-August, it will be in the second week of August.

- Morocco, 18th appearance, last in 2019;

- Nigeria, 19th appearance, last in 2019;

- Sudan, 9th participation, last in 2012;

- Malawi, 3rd participation, last in 2010;

- Ethiopia, 11th participation, last in 2013;

- Mauritania, 2nd participation, last in 2019;

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Africa, Benin, and Madagascar are absent for this next competition.
