DRC: Pandemic coverage exceeds 21,000 cases

The city of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has officially passed the mark of 21,000 cases of coronavirus.

This is what the report of the technical secretariat of the Multisectoral Committee of the Response against this pandemic indicates, on May 6, 2021.

39 new cases were recorded in the country on Thursday, including 15 in Haut-Katanga, 14 in North-Kivu, 5 in Kinshasa, 4 in Haut-Uélé and 1 in Ituri.

Thus, the cumulative number of cases in DRC since the official declaration of the coronavirus on March 10, 2020 is 30,240 of which 30,239 confirmed and 1 probable.

According to the same source, 5 patients have been declared cured and 2 additional cases of death reported. The cumulative number of cures and deaths have increased to 26,324 and 772 cases respectively.

As for the vaccination with AstraZeneca, since the beginning of this campaign in Kinshasa on April 19, already 4,943 people have been vaccinated.
