The arrests of people accused of involvement in drug trafficking are continuing in Madagascar. The police have arrested five people of Nigerian origin who were in possession of synthetic drugs.

According to a press release issued by the Madagascan National Police on their official Facebook account, the authorities received information concerning five foreign nationals who were in possession of hard synthetic drugs.

They were located in the rural commune of Itaosy on the east side of Antananarivo. According to the announcement on the social network, the police went straight to the scene to catch them in the act. They were preparing a mixture of various hard drugs weighing 1kg600, and were planning to sell them when they were caught.

Lately, heroin, commonly known as "roro" or "trebeky", has been wreaking havoc on the Big Island. Users and dealers are being arrested one after the other. Unfortunately, addiction to this hard drug has become a real scourge, especially among young people.
