The authorities have decided to suspend flights to and from Italy and Belgium as of Monday, March 1, 2021, at midnight, Le360 learns from informed sources. This decision, our sources explain, was notified to the airlines in the early afternoon.

Morocco thus locks, and always more, its air borders to thwart the propagation of the new variants of Covid-19.

These measures are justified by the health precautions taken to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and meet the criteria established by the Moroccan Ministry of Health. The latter has reported the detection of 24 cases of infection by the British variant of Covid-19.

As a reminder, on 19 January 2021, with the appearance of the variants, the Moroccan authorities took the decision to prohibit, as a precautionary measure, access to the national territory - until further notice - of aircraft and passengers from Australia, Brazil, Ireland and New Zealand. Other countries have been added to this list over the weeks, and there are now some 15 countries on the list.
