On Wednesday, Somalia's president said he wanted to resume talks on holding an election.

As a result, Mr. Farmajo will address parliament on Saturday, with the aim of getting approval for the electoral process. In addition, in an address, he also called on political actors to hold dialogues on how to conduct the vote.

However, the president later said that "unfortunately, our initiatives have been hindered by individuals and foreign entities that have no other goal than to destabilize the country and bring it back to the era of division and destruction in order to create a constitutional vacuum. "

Indeed, since the end of Farmajo's tenure, political tensions have been mounting. As happened recently this weekend with opponents of the government, who took to the streets to demonstrate against the two-year extension of the Head of State. A clash with the police that ended late in the evening with gunfire.

For this revival of initiatives on the holding of an election, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, confirmed his support for the president and in turn calls for the acceleration of fair and free elections.
