The signing of an agreement to relaunch Sudan's transition to democracy, scheduled for 6 April, will not take place as planned. The signing of the framework agreement providing for a return to civilian-military power sharing, a sine qua non for the resumption of international aid to Sudan.

The agreement between civilians, military and paramilitary supposed to relaunch the democratic transition in Sudan after the 2021 coup is again postponed, said Wednesday evening April 5 the civilian representatives of the process.

Faced with this situation, the Forces for Freedom and Change (FLC), called for a peaceful march this Thursday across all provinces for "freedom, peace and justice", against the military and "the return of the old regime", the Islamo-military dictatorship of Omar al-Bashir, who was overthrown in 2019, and whose many cadres have regained their positions in the administration thanks to the 2021 coup.

The repression of demonstrations against the coup in Sudan has already left 125 people dead since the coup, according to pro-democracy doctors. In anticipation of this mobilisation, the authorities have declared 6 April a public holiday and a large military deployment was visible on Wednesday in various parts of Khartoum and its suburbs, notably blocking bridges over the Nile, witnesses reported.
