A Nigerian technology expert, David Gbodi Odaibo is reported to have died in his sleep, seven days after securing a $125 million deal with the US government.

His brother Stephen Odaibo, the CEO of Retina-Al Health Incorporation says David suffered a cardiac arrhythmia, a heart attack in his sleep and this subsequently led to his death.

As a result, the technology expert died at only 42 years of age. David's death had devastated his family, according to his family.

He was a genius

David wrote an algorithm to automatically detect threats at airports before his death. As a result, he won a $125 million contract with the Department of Homeland Security.

According to reports, he had a PhD in computer engineering and was a Kaggle Grandmaster, the highest attainable skill level in practical machine learning.

The algorithm he wrote to automatically detect threats at airports just won a $125 million deal from the Department of Homeland Security about a week ago. His code has won billions of dollars in backed companies.

Dies of a heart attack

While celebrities have sometimes died because of Covid-19, that was not the case with David, his brother testifies. "My heart is broken.  He had a heart arrhythmia, a heart attack while he was sleeping.  He was fully vaccinated and had no Covid.  He and I were so close.  He was only 42 years old," says Mr Stephen Odaibo.

David's death has saddened his entire family, his parents, his four siblings, but especially his wife and two young children.

According to his brother, he was a kind, gentle, brilliant and humble man.
