Chemicals are responsible for women's fertility

The world birth rate is falling. Doctor-researchers believed that this was due to a delay in the birth of the first child or the will of some women who choose not to have one. But in any case, this does not really demonstrate the decline in fertility rates worldwide.

The results of research by doctors at Karolinska Institutet have shown that the decline in fertility is linked to the use and presence of industrial chemicals in our daily lives. And this impacts especially on male as well as female production.

The use of chemicals has taken a different form since its use was banned. Currently, they are adopted in waterproofing products or mosquito sprays. So they are still present in our environment and even in food such as oily fish.

Reduced egg count and sperm count

The presence of chemicals in a woman reduces the number of her eggs, regardless of her age. According to research by reproductive doctors, women with high levels of chemicals in their blood had a harder time getting pregnant. For those with very high levels, it took a year or more.

Namely, women are born with several numbers of immature eggs in their ovaries, and this is once. They can no longer reproduce new ones like men. And the number of eggs in reserve in the ovary decreases with the monthly ovulations, and with the normal death of the follicles. Indeed, when it falls below the critical level, natural fertility stops and the menopause begins.

The study showed that toxic chemicals promote and accelerate the disappearance of ovarian follicles. This can lead to reduced fertility and even early menopause.

The negative effects for men are nothing other than reduced sperm count. Thus, men may be unable to get their partners pregnant.

PCBs, one of the products that the doctors studied, also affect fertility in men.

In short, the decline in male and female fertility will make it difficult for couples to become pregnant.

Chemical foods

Our food and the products we use for our skin are full of chemicals. We are even exposed to these products from the time we are developing in the womb.

The use of these harmful products has had devastating effects on humans, animals and plants. This has been the case since 1940. Many chemicals were introduced to the market with little evidence of safety. As a result, these products are now destroying the environment and humanity. To this day, chemicals such as plastics, soaps, shampoos, medical equipment and PFAS (the chemical used in Teflon and fire-fighting foams) are harming human reproduction, only after 10 years of consumer use.

Doctor-researchers advise us to avoid certain foods such as shellfish and certain products such as those we put on our skin and hair. These are the ways in which we can minimise the negative effects of chemicals on our chances of having a baby.
