A Nigerian man who wanted to prove his great love for his girlfriend. He committed the unthinkable by stealing plantains on Monday, May 24. These bananas cost about 10,000 Naira, equivalent to 14,000 CFA, but unfortunately for him, he was arrested. After his arrest, the young man confessed that he had stolen the plantains to sell them in order to pay for his girlfriend's makeup.

According to reports from Instanajiablog, the young man stole plantain regimes in Ebedebiri, Sagbama LGA in Bayelsa, Nigeria. He didn't get very far though. He was accosted by some good Samaritans in the area.

When asked about the use of the funds, the man said that his girlfriend had demanded the money to pay for a make-up session.

According to several corroborating sources, on Monday, May 24, the suspect was arrested and during his interrogation by a community leader, he confessed to the act.

He confessed that his girlfriend had demanded the sum of N10,000 allegedly to buy make-up. His girlfriend had given him a deadline to get the money. If he didn't get it, he risked losing her.

The alleged plantain thief said he was very frustrated. This is the first time he had done such an act. He had entered the farms of people in the community, cut their plantains in order to sell them and raise money for his girlfriend.

This is a typical case of "things we do for love." What we wouldn't really do for love. When we're very much in love, we're willing to make any sacrifice. Even the most outlandish ones.
