This Thursday, the Constitutional Court affirmed the re-election of Patrice Talon in the first round. According to the statement of the president of the Court, Joseph Djogbénou, "the election of April 11, 2021 is regular, sincere and transparent."

Indeed, the duo Patrice Talon and Mariam Talata won 1,982,534 votes, which allowed them to obtain an absolute majority of votes to be elected in the first round. As for the opposition candidates, Alassane Soumanou and Corentin Kohoué obtained 261,096 votes and 53,685 votes respectively. For the Independent Electoral Commission, all these figures are the same stated during the counting of the ballots on Tuesday evening.

In addition, it was also announced that the voter turnout was 50.63%.
However, for international observers, these data are low and will subsequently lead to many questions.

Appeals can be filed in the next five days before the final promulgation of official results.

On the side of Talon, the latter has not yet made any statement.
