The controversial act of policewoman Caroline Kangogo, which shocked the country at the same time, is finally over. Her body was found at her parents' home in western Kenya on Friday 16 July. The 34 year old policewoman was involved in two murders.

As a reminder, Caroline Kangogo has been wanted since 05 July for murder.  She is suspected of having shot and killed two men on 5 and 6 July. Since then, she has been on the run, although her colleagues have been pursuing her.

The hunt began on Monday morning, July 5, when the body of Police Officer John Ogweno was found dead in his car. According to reports, Officer John had spent the evening with the policewoman the night before.

The story did not end there, the body of her boyfriend Peter Ndwiga, was also found dead on Tuesday, July 6. This act took place in a hotel room 200 km from the first murder. According to the surveillance camera, Caroline Kangogo and Peter Ndwiga entered the hotel. However, she left the place alone around midnight, according to the surveillance video.

Did Caroline commit suicide?

Caroline Kangogo has since disappeared, and the elite police and army forces searching for her have not been able to find her hideout during this time. But according to investigators, her 13 years of police experience gives her an advantage. She knows how to cover her tracks. However, she was not found for some time and now her body has been found at her parents' home.

She finally went to her parents' home on Thursday night. Her body was discovered dead by her mother on Friday morning, around 8am. According to the explanations, there was a bullet wound in her head and her rifle was next to her. Suicide is currently the suspected cause of death for the investigators. But tests still need to be carried out to confirm her death.

Moreover, her parents did not see her arrive, let alone hear any shots. To be precise, Caroline was in a toilet in the garden located 50m from the house.

The reason for her actions seems unclear. But the traces left in her phone could confirm it. The messages in her phone book are evidence of her depression. She would have written feeling depressed and having been sexually harassed within the police. But also, she would explain that she was cheated out of more than 10,000 euros by her boyfriend Peter Ndwiga.  The investigation into this case is ongoing.
