Abdool Mamodally Doomun, a 45-year-old resident of Souillac, met a tragic end during an outing to the Pomponette lagoon this afternoon, Monday, March 8. He was fishing with a friend when he found himself in trouble. His body was recovered by officers of the National Coast Guard from Souillac and taken to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The body of the 40 year old was taken to the Victoria Hospital morgue in Candos for an autopsy. An investigation was opened at the Souillac police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
