A man killed his future wife with several blows, a few days before their wedding. He did not assume his act in court. As a result, he was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison.

The story took place in Russia. The act was committed by a 26-year-old travel agent named Alexander Voronin. According to the information, he is the owner of a travel agency and a car rental company. He is also the son of Nikolay, a former senior officer of the KBG security services.

Alexander beat his girlfriend, Marina Pankratova, also 26 years old. He beat her in 83 separate strokes, with an unidentified object until that moment.  

Pankratova was found half-naked in her bed after the attack. Alexander's mother was the first to see her in it.

Killed with what object?

Face disfigured and skull fractured. These are the reports and evidence presented to a Moscow court without mentioning the weapons used during the crime. In any case, even the relatives and those who saw Marina's corpse have no idea what Alexander used to cut his girlfriend's throat. But it could be a chair leg or the blunt head of an axe.

Marina's limbs and chest were covered with wounds, most of which were certainly caused by punches and kicks.

The perpetrator fled after killing his future wife. However, he was arrested because of travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

His father, Nikolay, persuaded him to turn himself in but he would not follow his father's advice. He was subsequently detained in a Moscow park.

He is an abuser

According to reports, Alexander was seen leaving their flats sometime after committing the murder. State investigators looked into five of Alexander's former girlfriends. They all claimed he was an abuser. He tied up a woman and threatened to throw her child out of the window.

However, Nikolay, Alexander's father, denies that his son is the killer. "Pay attention to the fact that most of the blows were done by a right-handed person and that Alexander is left-handed," he said. Nikolay, from his point of view is so sure that at least two men committed the murder.

As for Alexander, he said at the trial that he does not remember anything. But the court said that a CCTV camera recorded him during his act of cruelty and no one else was seen entering the house. As a result, he was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison.

According to a friend of the couple, Marina had sometimes complained to the police about domestic violence. But she had withdrawn her complaint because she agreed to marry Alexander.
